Licensing


The way the software is licensed is explained below. The way you are licensed for each component must be in place so that it functions correctly.

Licenses are generated by the V1 Support team, if you have any enquiries prior to an installation, click here for information on contacting them.

All licenses are held on the V1 server where the Server Components are installed, the location being beneath the top level installation root directory.
They are implemented automatically by the setup program and you will receive them via email from the V1 Support Team.

If what you have received is not what you’re expecting or you’re not 100% sure. STOP.

Contact your Sage / V1 Account Manager to verify them and if needed you will be sent new licenses.

NOTE: Those marked with a asterisk (*) are none mandatory, all others are required for a functional system of the component licensed for.
NOTE: If licenses are added / removed manually, the DbLogin service must be restarted for changes to take effect.

Do not install demo licenses on a customer site as these will expire without warning meaning functionality will be compromised.

Electronic Document Management is licensed as below. NOTE: EDM requires all the same licences as EDD in addition to the following:

SmartConnect


SmartConnect is a separately registered add-on required for use with all areas of the solution, retrieving sensitive data securely.

Below is an example step by step procedure on registering your V1 Server with the SmartConnect add-on:

• Customer / Partner / PS run the setup program and install R14
• Navigate to the NIS config and take note of the Unique ID of server
• Contact support and supply them with the Unique ID of server
• Support will then perform the SmartConnect Registration
• Support download the SmartConnect file from the license server client_token_SmartConnect.json (this can be safely renamed)
• This is emailed to the Customer / Partner / PS Guy who requested them
• Go to the NIS config and take note of the Registered client ID value, you will be asked for this shortly
• Now run the SmartConnect.MSi
• Provide the Registered client ID as taken from NIS and supply the client_token_SmartConnect.json

The reason for this procedure is to establish trust between the V1 License server, the Core software installation and the integration components.
To prevent them from being used erroneously, all of them must 'marry up' to allow them to properly communicate.
