Install the Client Components

Ths page is split in to two sections.

The first Section Automatic Deployment covers the steps required when using the SmartDeployClient binary.
The second section Manual Deployment covers the steps required if you have manually installed a component.

Depending on which method of installation you have chosen, go to the appropriate section.

You are strongly advised wherever possible to use the Automatic Deployment option, however in some isolated cases, manual is more suitable.

Automatic Deployment

The SmartDeployClient binary is based on PowerShell, it asks relevant questions about your environment before allowing you to choose which components to download and install.

Pre-Requisites

The Server Components have been installed.

SmartDeployClient

Now the Pre-Requisites have been satisifed, you can run SmartDeployClient.

  • Download SmartDeployClient from the Client Components page.
  • Un-compress to a temporary location on disk (NOTE: Do not run from within the zip file, it must be un-compressed first)
  • Right click and RUN AS ADMINISTATOR (this is very important)
  • A check is done on execution policy rights, if asked, press Y, then enter (to indicate you are happy to execute the binary)
  • A check is done on the version of Powershell found
  • A check is done on the version of .NET found
  • A check is done on a decent internet connection
  • You are asked to confirm you have read and understood the pre-requisites
  • We then get into the physical act of installing each component in the following order as a Y/N
  • HTTPSetup
  • You are asked some questions about the environment, it then installs it silently
  • DbLogin Admin Client + Plugins
  • Installs the DbLogin Admin Console + it's plugins dir silently
  • BlobTypeManager
  • Installs the BlobTypeManager silently
  • DbArchive Index Manager
  • Installs the DbArchive Index Manager silently
  • DbScanner
  • Installs DbScanner silently
  • DbCapture Admin
  • Installs DbCapture Admin silently
  • DbCapture Interactive Client
  • Installs the DbCapture Interactive Client silently
  • DbAuthorise Web Client
  • Installs the DbAuthorise Web Client silently
  • DbAuthorise Windows Client
  • Installs the DbAuthorise Windows Client silently
  • Styling
  • You are prompted which styling to Apply, V1 or Advanced

For each download, after the installation of that component has completed, you are asked if you want to purge the zip file to preserve disk space (Y / N).

Manual Deployment

Download each associated MSi, run it, follow the on-screen instructions.

Styling

V1 Clients can be 'styled' to match the look and feel of the ERP against which you are implementing.
Very much optional, but recommended to give a streamlined user experience.
With the clients all close, download / Run the V1Styling.MSi on your PC first, then whichever you wish to use, download / un-compress it's contents into the following directory:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Version One Shared\Styles\Current

When any client is then loaded, it will adopt the respective style.
