EDM for Sage X3 (R13)

Troubleshooting


This area is a quick reference area to help diagnose unexpected behaviour having installed and implemented EDD, EDM or PIA.

EDD

  • Does the Sage installation meet the minimum Patch requirements for compatiblity?
  • Has the Implementation Guide for EDD only been followed in full?
  • Has the Crystal Report Changes document been followed in full?
  • Are the settings in \V1\EDDOUTBOUNDMANAGEMENT\EDDOUTBOUNDMANAGEMENT.def correct?
  • When printing to a destination, is Sage creating the PDF in the \V1\EDDOUTBOUNDMANAGEMENT\!AUTO dir?

Emailing

  • Is the EDD Outbound Management service running?
  • Is the mail server configured to allow relay?
  • Have you checked the log files in the \V1\logs dir?
  • Have you checked the log file in the \V1\DbMail dir?
  • Has the ITDEPT DbLogin user assigned an email addresses?

Faxing

  • Is the EDD Outbound Management service running?
  • Is the DbFax Scheduler service running?
  • Is the DbFax: Connection Server service running?
  • Is the modem switched on?
  • Is the modem Fax Class 2?
  • Is the phone line attached to the modem analogue?

Printing

  • Is the EDD Outbound Management service running?
  • Is the EDM Print Management service running?
  • Is the printer PDF Enabled?

EDM

Tick off all the EDD questions and in addition:

  • Is the DbArchive: EDM Import service running?
  • Have the Installation and Implementation Guides for EDD, EDM with or without PIA been followed in full?
  • Is the X3EDM!ENDPOINTNAME! ClassicPool running?
  • Have the Endpoints been patched for EDM?
  • Are your DbLogin users uppercase, assigned their licences, access and email addresses?
  • Is the DbArchive.DBA__FILTER_MAP SQL table populated?
  • Are the settings in \V1\DbArchive\V1_SETTINGS.def correct?
  • Ensure the locale of the server and your browser is set to the language of choice so dates are displayed correctly in SmartRetrieve.

PIA

Tick off all the EDM questions and in addition:

  • Have the Endpoints been patched for PIA?
  • Are the settings in \V1\DbCapture\defs\V1_SETTINGS_OCR.def correct?
