V1Logs2Email

Information

The V1Logs2Email addon is a background process running on the V1 Server allowing logs to be requested by email, based on the subject line.

• SMARTMAIL
• This will send you the audit and system log of all SmartMail activity.
• SMARTCONNECT
• This will send you the executable and API logs of all SmartConnect activity.
• DBCAPTURE|46
• This will send you all logs generated for an individual DbCapture document, in this example, with a DOCID of 46. The pipe symbol followed by the number represents the Document ID for the logs you want to see.

When a request is received, the system will reply back to you with within 60 seconds the logs you requested as a zipped up attachement, up to and including the time you requested them.

This removes the need to 'dial in to the server' to get logs giving you the freedom to request them from any device and send them to any person who wants to see them.

All settings are stored in Vault, it can be activated / de-activated via a Web UI and allows up to 3 email addresses (To / CC / BCC) to receive logs where requested.

The delivery consists of the following components:

• DbCheck polling service (renamed to Logs2Email.exe)
• Scripts to automatically install / start / stop / start the service in debug / auto path replacement
• V1Logs2Email.def

Hotfixes

To save having to re-install V1Logs2Email for existing installations made since the last update, hotfixes can be applied (file replacement) as and when available.

Fresh installs of V1Logs2Email will always include the hotfixes, so do not need to be applied.
